The food is great! Gotta love the sushi in there, It is MAGNIFICENT service too! There is a downside tho, the crab legs are pretty salty and is kinda rough to eat. But I got to say their kitchen makes me crave it as much as sushi.(I am addicted to sushi) and the surrounding is very astonishing, I love the ambience the lighting gives too! I reccomend for a nice enjoyable but not too intense buffet
(Dined 01/13/2024 SA @ 12:30pm): I certainly wouldn't get buff eating the smorgasbord of food at this golden hibachi restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley! It was a somber event that brought together family, friends, and relatives to Gold Hibachi Buffet for a post-funeral celebration of life for one of my last remaining uncles. At this age and stage of my life, it seemed that the only reason we all gathered was the passing of a loved one. But in true Filipino fashion, we loved to eat, and what better place to enjoy a meal and caught up with everyone than a buffet!? I'd never been here nor ever heard of this place which was very odd since my immediate family loved buffets and dim sum places. Was this a golden moment to add this buffet with a hibachi section to our list of places to eat!? PURCHASE Saturday & Sunday All Day Dinner Adult ($25.49): This price also included fountain soft drinks. Pricing for kids 2-10 years old was $2.50/year, and kids under 2 years old were FREE. Here was a quick snapshot of what I ate: ~1st Plate Sushi - I worked over the sushi section and nearly grabbed one of everything to try! It was all freshly-made and very good. I would've gone back for seconds, but this first plate almost did me in; my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Z2kDcnzjTOFWlivScFSLTw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ~Hot & Sour Soup - This was a lovely transition from all the sushi I had. The broth was wonderfully hot and spicy filled with plenty of bamboo shoots, tofu, and wood ear mushrooms. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=MJLDyVNYVdVxJ04Iwfckdw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ~Red Bean Rice - Next, I wanted something sweeter to cleanse my palate before I jumped into real food, and this dessert-like dish wrapped in banana leaves and steamed did the trick. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=hpI85pwbNx39PRHsH0Ouqw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ~2nd Plate Shellfish - I continued with seafood but with an exo-skeleton this time... and a BBQ stick and a bun thrown in for good measure. I generally liked everything which was all served hot; however, I felt things were a tad salty. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=f6slX-2JOasoo3ClRrw73w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ~3rd Plate Vegetable/Chinese - This last plate was like a mini Panda Express collection... and another bun. This was my lightest serving as my belly was pretty full at this point. The vegetables were lovely albeit overly-seasoned. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=7-QlXM577Dt06xvUZBJ3xA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw SERVICE We were all quickly greeted in the lobby and quickly led to the back dining area which was all reserved for us. Unless we ordered any drinks other than sodas and waters which were self-served, or you went to the hibachi grill, the only constant service was the staff who cleared away the empty glasses and plates. I elt all went smoothly - thank you! PARKING (FREE) They had a large private lot with ample stalls - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Your standard buffet hall with plenty of dining spaces https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=koi8xUAavZVSOMfmSqXOgQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw (e.g. booths, chairs, tables) throughout, a welcoming lobby, and the food at the center of it all. Little to no decorations in the main area, with a cloud-in-the-skies motif in the back dining room. Minimal natural lighting came through the various windows and front doors (none in the back dining room) while cooling warm (like you were inside an igloo) electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were a couple of TVs throughout while low-level music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=GT_qtivugzsPSwVWdZUSmA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Although I was dressed in a suit and tie on this occasion, this place was totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was a pleasure eating at Gold Hibachi Buffet, and my family would definitely return! Generally speaking, the food was very good with ample selections (I didn't try everything, but I didn't notice as many meat or vegetable options), the pricing was very comparable (cheaper than our favorite Vegas Seafood Buffet), and the service was straightforward and easy. We also liked that they had their own parking lot. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience per person was around $26.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
